Can U take Criticism …. of what kind ?

This is my first blog and would expect the readers to be lenient with me for errors which may be in plenty !

In a series of tweets criticizing only professionally may be a bit too hard, two top Main Stream News Media persons whom i respect for personal integrity and expect a lot more from them socially on the basis of their past achievements, the ultimate response i got was a freezing cold one. As i was pondering about the response not as a jilted admirer but as an open minded individual, a flurry of thoughts came to my mind.

The outbursts against Aamir Khan by those in medical profession on expose of unethical malpractices of few of them in Satyamev Vijayate episode. Majority of those in medical profession were not at all ready to accept the drawbacks but were throwing back allegations and downplaying the exposed misdeeds by stating irrefutable good achievements of many of them. The same thing is evident when even MSNM persons with integrity reacting strongly against people labeling media as Paid media which certainly is wrong if one encompasses the whole media as paid. The people who feel that news reports are not unbiased and express the same in Social media, are sweepingly called by MSNM persons as mindless, mind-blind, trolls …. A few of the Social media users going berserk, surely can never be justified or defended.

Most Social media users will accept there are negatives in their side too. Even common citizens will accept there are few corrupt amongst them also, but most of them are corruption-abused and want to lead a clean life, that’s what is echoed from every part of India for the last 2 years. But am still to come across a MSNM person accepting publicly that there are widespread corruption and paid news both raw and refined in totally commercialized MSNM, why this hypocrisy ?

In every profession or field there are few characters blotting it. It is the prime duty of the individuals of integrity in the profession to accept criticism positively and stop those blotting it rather hypocritically ignoring or covering their misdeeds. Sadly today any individual will most possibly ignore choicest personal criticism but rarely does ignore and rather reacts brazenly when criticized professionally. Commercialization has made professional criticism much more harsher and intolerable than personal criticism.

This sadly boils down to Professional Privatization, uniting as a Class ignoring or covering up the misdeeds of a few in it, in a seemingly noble intention of defending and safeguarding the respect of their Profession. If every Profession becomes a Class or Group defending even the wrong ones amongst them rather than self initiating to confront and stop those degrading the Profession, there would be more divisions in terms of Professional Classes, ready for exploitation by those few strongly believing and following divide and rule policy. The only ultimate loser will be every exploited individual citizen of India and the nation India !
